What are gulet prices in Croatia in comparison to other countries?

In Croatia, there are currently around 50 gulets which are making gulet cruises. This is a much smaller number than in Turkey that has more than 400 or 500 solid gulets for charter making it the biggest market for this kind of holidays. What are the prices in Croatia? We will answer it here.

Trogir

A Smaller number of gullets is just one of the reasons why Croatia is a bit more expensive than Turkey (this gap is closing in the last couple of year).
The other reasons are also cheaper labor in Turkey and more expensive prices of food and drinks in Croatia. What does this mean in numbers?

Gulets in Croatia  It is like this:

1) in Turkey you can find a Luxury gulet which can accommodate around 12 persons, for less than 12.000 €/week in highest possible season including food. In Croatia gulet similar quality will cost you around 13.500 €/week – 15.000 €/Week while in Greece (starting from Athens) it will cost you around 20.000 – 25.000 €/week.

2) Turkey has a huge selection of VIP gulets which have prices over 25.000 € and up to 50.000 €/week. Greece also has a couple of this kind of gulets, while in Croatia this number is much lower. So if looking for 35.000 plus gulets hurry with booking as you might come up empty waiting for last minute deals.

3) Food expenses are higher in Croatia rather in Turkey. While in Turkey you can get a very nice quality full board (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) already for around 245 € and up to 350 €/person/week, a Full board in Croatia will almost always cost you from 320 € and up to 450€ or even more per person/week. In Greece, you will generally pay for the food which you spend. This means around 20% on top of the charter price. But food is something where you should not save to much as it is always an experience of a lifetime.

4) Port taxes in Turkey are always included, while in Croatia and in Greece you always have to pay for it extra. This can cost you from 500 € and up to 1.000 € per group per week, depends on the routes.

As mentioned above prices in Croatia are a bit higher however since the recession started a couple of years ago prices became much more realistic. Now you can find very good deals in all 3 sections (standard, luxury, VIP) however more luxury the gulet is less chance you will get for negotiations and good deals. If Turkey has the best prices (lowest), Croatia is no.2 while Greece is the most expensive one.
