Yes Sailing is a lot of fun, but it is also an adrenaline sport, you need to know what you are doing and in a case of stronger winds, it can get dangerous. Sailing boats can have very small areas, lots of cleaning and cooking to do, and the best alternative to avoid all that are gulet sailing holidays. Gulet Sailing holidays are an amazing way to spend your holidays. But you have to know a couple of things when it comes to sailing and gulets in general before you book your holidays. In this blog post, we explain it all with the help of captain on board of deluxe gulet Blue Heaven!

If you are still trying to find out if gulet blue cruise holidays are appropriate for you this post will be very useful if you like sailing.

If you just need a general idea about blue cruises, you can also check this link:

You will learn everything from how much it will cost you, what you can experience on a gulet, things you will like and also things you might not like.

If the things you like are more important for you than things which you do not like…

Then gulet sailing might be for you!

If you are searching for genuine sailing holidays then you have to know 3 crucial things when it comes to gulets:

1 – MOST GULETS DO NOT SAIL, OR SAIL VERY FEW TIMES!

Gulets are called motor sailors.

This means gulets are primarily crewed motor sailing yachts and they usually travel on a motor but they can also sail. However, not all of them have the sailing possibility. Some gulets do not even have sails.

Other gulets have a crew that is not very keen on sailing.

While some gulets are just not built for sailing at all.

So if sailing is incredibly important to point for you – YOU MUST NOTICE THIS WHEN YOU SEND THE INQUIRY TO YOUR AGENT!

2 –  IF THERE IS NO WIND – YOU WILL NOT SAIL!

Even if we promise you some great sailing and you come to Turkey and for 7 days there are no winds…

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to sail. We are of course very sorry if that happens, everything is possible but we can’t change the weather.

Fact is gulets are quite big boats and they need much stronger wind than let’s say, 40 feet sailing yachts which need very little wind to actually sail…

So fingers crossed wind will be on our side!

3 – IF YOU WILL SAIL A LOT – GIVE THE CREW A BREAK!

If your entire crew will be occupied with sailing do not expect them to serve you champagne along the way.

They will be very invested and busy to keep you happy while sailing and until you stop in some bay, they will go back to “normal stuff” and choose that don’t include sailing so you will have to give them a break.

Also, you should feel free to help them during a sailing procedure, it’s fun and interesting experience for you and you are helping your crew.
