Marmaris has a view of the harbor and mountains, mountains are full of pine forest. Marmaris Castle and Marina section referred to as the Old City. All of the historical buildings in this area comes from the Ottoman period.
The historic Old City has been built up around its fort and is replete with buildings from the 16th century onwards. Marmaris Castle is the first place we would visit. Marmaris Castle is believed to date to the Ionians, in 3,000 B.C. It was besieged and then repaired by Alexander the Great, then restored again by Süleyman the Magnificent in 1522.
Between the years 1980-1990 which was opened to settlement in the Republican period and has been restored. Able to watch an extraordinary Marmaris panorama of the castle during the day and night. There is also a museum inside the castle. Hafza Sultan Caravanserai was built in 1.545. Caravanserai is used today a souvenir-gift shop,cafe-bars. Marmaris Old Bazaar has been restored according to its original. Bazaar still continues today a tourist shopping center feature. You can buy souvenirs, handicrafts and Turkish products such as leather, silver, jewelry, and textiles along with tea, spices, and coffee.
As our last stop, we go to Rocks of Goodness Archaeological Park (Iyilik Kayaliklari). In this interesting archaeological park primarily features ruins going back to the 4th century BC.
