Gulet-Nostalgija-captain

This Itinerary was made by owners of Gulet Nostalgija (Darijo and his wife Ani). They are huge experts on the topic. They love great food and they like to be pampered when they visit a tavern. So they are the most credible people to make the same organizations as they would do for them self – FOR YOU.

Their passion is also good wine and what we are showing you on this page is just 50% of the story. Other 50% of insider secrets and information only they are aware of – and you will get access to this info while cruising on gulet Nostalgija and talking with them personally. Get an idea of the cruise below (and know, that everything is flexible).

This route suggestion is ONE WAY CRUISE from Split (Kaštela) to Dubrovnik or Vice versa.

There are also 2 other variations. One is cruising North to Kornati islands, which is all about nature. And you also have Split – Split option, which is also very nice. You can contact us for details on those 2 routes also.

Day 1 – Kaštel Lukšič – Island Šolta (Saturday)

Embarkation from Kaštel Lukšič Saturday and cruise to island Šolta. (check in is easy going, direct to gulet and not “hectic” and stressed out as in Split).

Also, Kaštel Lukšič is very nice little town (made from stone) and if you arrive early or late it is great to take a walk around or even stay for the night there.

It is also very close to Split (15 minutes with a car so the trip to Split can also be organized). Split is good for sightseeing, BUT 100% not for staying there with a gulet for overnight.

Gulet stays at place Nečujam on anchor or if is space available for mooring you will be spending the night at a place called Stomorska.

Restaurant “Turanj” is offering high-quality fish and meat menu and is also well known for good Croatian wines. The first evening is all about escaping the masses, taking it easy and relaxation.

Stari Grad Hvar island in Croatia

Day 2 – From Šolta Cruising to Stari Grad on island Hvar

Making a couple of stops for swimming and then exploring this amazing town & harbor. Stari Grad has several options, land trips, and taverns to explore.

That is why we would recommend you to discuss this with Darijo on board a gulet and then decide on what you would like to do ON SPOT. Stari Grad by night – perfect combination of a nice town with not too heavy crowds.

PakleniOtoci - otok Hvar

Day 3 – Palmižana Private Marina and Town Hvar (Monday)

From Stari Grad you will cruise to Pakleni islands, beautiful place to swim and relax.

After lunch on board cruising to ACI Marina Palmižana. No heavy crowds. Pure nature. Worth and investment.

From there we arrange taxi boat for transfer to city Hvar. You can check out the old town and have a great time. Lots of options available. Again Capt. Darijo advice will be worth pure gold. When you have enough of crowds and noise you just take a taxi back to your gulet which is moored in a safe and calm Marina waiting for you.

Day 4 – Pelješac Peninsula and Lovište (Tuesday)

From island Hvar cruising to Peninsula (Pelješac). During a day on anchorage, swimming, relaxing and enjoying. Spending the night at place Lovište, where is a restaurant very highly recommended called “Trumbeta”.

Day 5 – Korčula Island (Wednesday)

From Peninsula cruising to island Korčula, where the night would be spent on a quiet bay on anchorage with arranged transfer to city Korčula by dingy to visit the old town and all great places that Korčula provides.

Korčula was a birthplace of Marco Polo and it is also known as Little Dubrovnik. By the recommendation of captain restaurant to visit are “Adriana” and national Restaurant with wine cellar.

Day 6 – Island Mljet (Thursday)

From island Korčula cruising to National park Mljet. Mljet is one of the most beautiful islands of Dalmatian coast.Spending a day on the anchor. Relaxing, taking it easy. Lots of options for swimming, hiking, land excursions…

In the evening Nostalgija will move in front of the great restaurant “Ogigije” which is very well known after all kind of lobster meals.

Adriatic coast in Croatia, Island Sipan

Day 7 – Šipanj Island or Dubrovnik (Friday)

From island Mljet sailing to island Šipan. Spending day at anchorage and night at a port near the restaurant “Tauris” which is also situated in the very old part of town. Very old place and lovely to check & see.

A panoramic view of the walled city Dubrovnik Croatia.

If you have a flight back home on Saturday which would not allow you to check Dubrovnik, an alternative to staying in Šipan on Friday is, of course, going to Dubrovnik. But our big advice would be like this. Stay on Šipan on Friday and take it easy. And then on Saturday make check in on the gulet in Zaton or Gruž (very close to Dubrovnik) and book a hotel or some other type of accommodation for an extra night or 2.

Dubrovnik is amazing and taking an extra day or 2 to explore it – PAYS OFF.

So here it is. I hope you have enjoyed taking this “virtual cruise”.

If you would like to give this itinerary a try all you have to do is contact us with your group info (dates, no of guests, any questions you might have) and we will be happy to supply you with all the needed details.

This itinerary combined with gulet Nostalgija (capt. Darijo and his wife (chef) Ani is a winning combination for active seniors or “middle age couples” traveling with no kids, who just wish to enjoy to the max.

Some more bonus highlights we wish to explain

  • Transfers from gulet to taverns can be organized “free of charge” most of the time
  • Your tables and reservations can be organized UP FRONT (very important for high season) and as guests from Nostalgija you will be noted as “VIP Group”
  • Dario and Ani advice are priceless. Communication is the most important thing on a board of a gulet and every day you will have a briefing where you will sit down with the captain and discuss all the options for next day
  • The itinerary is flexible. If you like some place A LOT – you can stay there longer. The thing you have to know is that then the rest of the trip has to be modified and that you also need to consider the weather. It is always safety first.
