Smell and taste the flavors of the island’s history, culture, and tradition
Gastro and history tour will take you all around the island of Vis – through the picturesque villages, important history sites and to the highest mountain peak Hum (587m) for the amazing panoramic view.
You will see hundreds of years old vineyards that had been there since the ancient Greek times and hear some interesting history facts. Taste excellent Plavac (red) and Vugava (white) wines, home-made grappa and liqueurs made from sage, carob, fennel or myrtle, olive oils and famous local dishes.
You can start your Gastro & history tour either from the town of Komiža or from Vis town. You will take a trip through the inland of Vis, visit a local village household and try some local delicacies and taste the local wine sorts in the best island wine cellar situated in the ex-military bunker.
From the highest peak on the island, the mountain Hum (587m), you will have an amazing panoramic view. The tour will also take you to a historic site of a former British RAF airport and to the panoramic point of Vis town.
